The DV-983H features a black metal chassis and a black front panel made with heavy gauge brushed aluminum. The front panel includes the following items: power button, resolution indicators, disc tray, eject button, IR sensor, VFD display window, HDMI resolution button, stop button and play/pause button.
Back Panel (High resolution file size: 345KB)

The back panel consists of the following connectors (from left to right): HDMI output, USB 2.0, coaxial and optical digital audio output, component video output, composite video and S-Video outputs, 7.1ch analog audio output, IR IN/OUT ports, RS-232 control port, and an IEC60-320 C18 inlet. All connectors are gold-plated. A detachable power cord is provided for convenient connection to an AC power source.

VRS by Anchor Bay Video Processing Chipsets

Two "VRS by Anchor Bay" chipsets are detailed in this photo. The ABT102 chipset (ABT algorithm implemented on a Xilinx SPARTAN XC3S2000-5FG456C FPGA and XCF08PVO48C Platform Flash) is mainly in charge of de-interlacing standard definition video. It provides AutoCUE-C™, Progressive Cadence Detection™, and Precision De-interlacing™ features for the DV-983H. The ABT1018 chip is mainly in charge of video scaling. It provides Precision Video Scaling™, frame rate conversion, aspect ratio control and video zooming features for the DV-983H. These technologies combine to generate a clearer, smoother, and true-to-life picture free of artifacts.

With Anchor Bay's successful implementation of the ABT algorithms in ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits), later production batches of the DV-983H feature the ABT2010 video processor chip. The same "VRS by Anchor Bay" technologies, including AutoCUE-C™, Progressive Cadence Detection™, Precision De-interlacing™, Precision Video Scaling™, frame rate conversion, aspect ratio control and video zooming are all integrated into this latest video processor. OPPO and Anchor Bay Technologies worked together to ensure the new ASIC-based design has achieved the exact same stellar video proformance as the FPGA-based design.
